The Beginning
Elloughton Juniors Football club originated from a Saturday Morning training club in Elloughton. Saturday Morning training club was set up in 1988 by Martin Kingston and Steve Cardy. It ran every Saturday morning, starting at 10am for the future football stars of Elloughton at the Primary School in the village. Since 1988 more than 500 children have passed through the club, to this day we are still waiting for the first player to turn professional.
The First Game
Since the club was formed it has been run by a number of people. After Martin and Steve decided to go into retirement Alan Smith and Alan Wilson took over the running of the club. It was under Alan Wilson's guidance that the first match
was played. An away game at Bridlington. A number of games and tournaments were played until Alan Wilson decided he no longer wanted to run the club.
Elloughton Juniors is Formed
It was under joint management of Steve West and Gustaf Baldvinsson when Elloughton Juniors were formed. A under 8 team was the first. The first game was against Cavandish which resulted in a resounding victory for the boys. From this point their has be no looking back. The training on a Saturday morning is now attracting a record number of people, resulting in the club moving to the new Hull Ionians development. Their is now five teams competing in the Hull Boys leagues for their respective age groups. The now under 11 team is one of the most successful teams in East Yorkshire and was recently invited as the first non
Icelandic team to play in a tournament on the island of Vestmannaeyjum - Iceland.
Iceland
Elloughton Juniors sent out 10 players to the small island of Vestmannaeyjum south of Iceland to take part in the Shellmot competition. Elloughton Juniors ran out comfortably winners of their group, and also the guest cup. The playing record in Iceland was played 9, won 9. Elloughton Juniors showed they had the skill to match the best teams out in Iceland and also the determination and organization. The team has now gone on to compete in the Hull Sunday League under 11 league.
New Season - 2000-2001
Elloughton Juniors now have two teams in the under 11 leagues, an under 10 team and an under 9 team. All the teams are doing well in their respective leagues and hoping to add to the silverware which the under 11's brought back with them from Iceland.
The Future
